When your child uses Wander Lab, we collect:

  • Conversation Content: All questions asked and responses provided during learning sessions with Arf, our AI curiosity companion
  • Search Queries: Topics and questions your child explores
  • Usage Information: Time spent learning, session frequency, topics explored
  • Learning Patterns: Interaction data to personalize the learning experience

1.3 Technical Information

We automatically collect:

  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, pages viewed
  • Language Preferences: Preferred language settings for platform localization
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: Session identifiers and preferences (see Section 8)

1.4 Safety Monitoring Data

To keep your child safe, we collect:

  • Flagged Content: Conversations that trigger our safety protocols
  • Alert History: Records of safety notifications sent to parents

  • Send immediate email alerts to parents when critical safety concerns are detected
  • Include flagged-but-not-critical activity in your daily digest with context
  • Maintain age-appropriate guardrails and content filtering

2.4 Platform Improvement

  • Analyze usage patterns to improve our service (using aggregated, de-identified data only)
  • Troubleshoot technical issues
  • Develop new educational features

2.5 Communication

  • Send daily curiosity digest emails to parents
  • Send immediate email notifications for critical safety alerts
  • Provide account updates, billing information, and service announcements
  • Respond to your questions and support requests

3. How We Share Your Information

We carefully limit who has access to your family's information.

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate Wander Lab:

Anthropic (Claude AI)

  • Purpose: To generate AI-powered educational responses

  • What we share: Parent email addresses, digest content, and safety alert notifications
  • Purpose: To deliver daily digest emails and critical safety alert emails

Supabase

  • What we share: All account data, user information, conversation history, and platform data
  • Purpose: Database hosting (PostgreSQL), user authentication, and backend infrastructure

  • Purpose: Web hosting and content delivery for our Next.js application

Stripe

  • What we share: Billing information, email address, subscription status (credit card details are handled directly by Stripe and never stored on our servers)
  • Purpose: To process your subscription payments securely

ElevenLabs

  • What we share: Text content of AI responses (converted to speech audio)
  • Purpose: To provide text-to-speech voice responses so children can listen to Arf's answers

All service providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the specific purposes we authorize.

3.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to:

  • Prevent illegal activity or violations of our Terms of Service

3.3 Business Transfers

If EverBot LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will provide notice and obtain consent before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do NOT:

  • Share identifiable information with schools or districts (family subscription accounts)

4. Data Retention

4.1 Active Accounts

  • Conversation History: Retained for the duration of your subscription to enable personalized learning and digest creation
  • Account Information: Retained while your subscription is active
  • Safety Alerts: Retained for one year after generation

4.2 After Account Closure

  • Immediate Deletion: Child conversation content and personal identifiers are deleted within 30 days
  • Aggregated Data: De-identified, aggregated usage data may be retained for analytics and platform improvement
  • Legal Requirements: Some data may be retained longer if required by law or to resolve disputes

4.3 Parent Rights to Delete

Parents can request deletion of their child's data at any time (see Section 6).

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your family's information:

  • All of your child's conversation history
  • Your entire family account

You can update or correct:

  • Your child's name, grade level, or date of birth

6.6 Response Time

We will respond to all privacy requests within 30 days. For complex requests, we may extend this period by an additional 30 days with notification.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Wander Lab is designed for children in grades 2-12, which includes children under 13. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

7.1 Parental Consent

We obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children under 13. Parents must create and authorize the family account before children can access the platform.

7.2 Information Collection from Children

We only collect information from children that is reasonably necessary for the educational purpose of the platform. We do not require children to provide more information than necessary to use Wander Lab.

7.3 Parental Access

Parents have the rights described in Section 6, including the right to review, delete, and refuse further collection of their child's information.

7.4 No Advertising

We do not use children's information for targeted advertising, nor do we allow third-party advertising on our platform.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

  • Send an email notification to the primary account email address
  • For significant changes, require re-acceptance of the updated policy
