COPPA Compliance
Last updated: February 14, 2026
Wander Lab is designed with children's privacy as a top priority. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which protects children under 13 years of age.
What is COPPA?
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) is a U.S. federal law that imposes requirements on operators of websites and online services directed at children under 13 years of age, or that knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
COPPA requires that we obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from children, and that we provide parents with certain rights regarding their children's information.
How We Comply with COPPA
✦Verifiable Parental Consent
Before a child can use Wander Lab, a parent or legal guardian must create an account and provide verifiable consent. We verify parental consent through credit card verification, which is an FTC-approved method.
✦Data Minimization
We only collect information that is necessary to provide our educational service. We do not ask children for unnecessary personal information, and we do not condition participation on providing more information than needed.
✦Parental Access & Control
Parents have full access to their child's information through the Parent Bridge dashboard. Parents can review conversation history, modify their child's profile, and delete their child's data at any time.
✦No Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share children's personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share information with service providers who help us operate the platform, subject to their respective privacy policies.
✦Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect children's information, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security assessments.
✦Data Retention & Deletion
We retain children's personal information only as long as necessary to provide our service. Parents can request deletion of their child's data at any time, and we will delete it within 30 days.
Information We Collect from Children
With parental consent, we collect the following information from children:
- Display Name — A first name or nickname chosen by the parent
- Date of Birth — Used for age verification
- Grade Level — Used to provide age-appropriate responses
- Avatar Selection — A fun avatar chosen from our pre-set options
- Conversation Content — The questions and messages children send to our AI
- Usage Data — Topics explored, badges earned, and session information
We do not collect: full names, photos, precise location, contact information, or any information that could directly identify a child outside of the platform.
Your Rights as a Parent
Under COPPA, parents have the following rights:
- Review — You can review all information collected from your child through your Parent Bridge dashboard
- Delete — You can request deletion of your child's information at any time
- Withdraw Consent — You can withdraw your consent and prevent further collection of your child's information
- Refuse Further Collection — You can refuse to permit any further collection or use of your child's information
To exercise any of these rights, log into your Parent Bridge dashboard or contact us at info@everbot.tech.
Safety Features
In addition to COPPA compliance, we have built comprehensive safety features:
🛡️ Age-Appropriate Guardrails
Our AI adapts responses to each child's grade level and redirects conversations that aren't age-appropriate — keeping learning safe without blocking genuine curiosity.
🔔 Tiered Safety Alerts
If a conversation touches on something serious, parents are notified right away so they can start the conversation. Less urgent items appear in your daily digest.
📊 Daily Digests
Parents receive daily email summaries of what their children explored — not as surveillance, but as conversation starters for the dinner table.
👁️ Full Visibility via Parent Bridge
Review conversation history, see topics explored, and manage each child's profile — all from your Parent Bridge dashboard.
